               Mysore is the second largest city in the state of Karnataka,india and it’s situated at the base of the chamundi hills.Mysore is one of the most important tourist place of the Karnataka.Mysore is also known as Palace city of india.Mysore Palace is the official place of the former royal family of mysore and also housed the royal offices.The term palace of mysore refers to these palaces,Amba vilas.
            Brindavan garden is a beautiful botanical park,full of fountains and boat rides beneath the dam.Diwans of mysore planned and built the gardens in connection with the construction of the dam.It is situated at Krishna Raja Sagara dam.
            Jaganmohan Palace was built by krishnaraja Wodeyar in 1861 and it was alternative palace for the royal family.It has three floors and has stained glass shutters and ventilators.The collections of paintings from the famed Travancore ruler,Raja Ravi varma,the Russian painter Svetoslav Roerich and many paintings in mysore style are exhibited in this palace.
             Chamundi hills is close to the Mysore palace and panoramic view of the city is seen from the top of the hills.You can view the racecourse,the Lalitha Mahal Palace,karanji and kukkarahalli lakes from the hills.
              Jayalakshmi vilas Mansion was built in 1905 by Chamaraja Wodeyar for his daughter Jayalakshmi Devi.It has three wings and contain a series of twin of Corinthian and lonic columns,regal pediments and oval ventilators.It was acquired by the Mysore university for its post graduate campus and said to be the first university museum complex in the country.
              Lalitha Mahal is the second largest palace in mysore and is located near chamundi hills,east of the city.The palace was built by Krishnaraja Wodeyar four in 1921.The palace is pure white in colour and built in the style of Italian palazzo with twin lonic columns and domes.
              Regional Museum of natural history is located on the bank of karanji lake in mysore and exhibits biological diversity,geology and ecology of southern india and folk lore museum is located in the Mysore University campus and exhibits over 6500 folk and crafts from all over the state of Karnataka.Wax Museum – Melody world based on musical instruments shows 100 life size wax statues and over 300 musical instruments categories in various bands and stage settings.It was established in October,2010.
            Mysore Zoo is one of the oldest and most popular zoos in india and it also named as Shri Chamarajendra Zoological gardens.It was established in 1892 under royal patronage.
           Talakad or talakadu is a town on the left bank of the kaveri river at a spot where the river makes a sharp bend.It is  spiritual pilgrimage place and talakad had over 30 temples and today are buried in sand.
