Kochaidayan is an upcoming tamil periodic film directed by
his daughter soundarya ashwin and script written by K.S.Ravikumar.Rajinikanth
plays a double role in this film.Sarath kumar,Aadhi,deepika padukone,shobana
acting in kochaidayan.It is expected to shot with motion capture 3D film.Rajiv
menon is doing cinematography and music composed by A.R.Rahman and rajinikanth rendered his voice for a song in
kochaidayan.In past years,playback singing for the film kochaidayan done by
rajini after the film Mannan.The film will be dubbed in telugu(vikrama simha),Malayalam
and hindi.
The story
and title of the movie is inspired by the king of pandya dynasty kochadaiyan
ranadhiran.Kochadayan ranadhiran was a
pandyan king.He was the son and successor of Arikesari Maravarman.Maravarman
was a pandyan king who ruled the ancient tamil kingdom between 670 and 710AD.He
was the successor of jayantavarman(640-670AD).He was succeeded by his son
kochadaiyan ranadhiran(710CE – 735CE).He maintained his superiority over cheras
and cholas and depressed the rule of marathas in the city of mangalapuram,which
is now called mangalore.He started war with chalukyas of Badami and the Gangas.He defeated Ay chieftains
in kurunadu in south Travancore.Maravarman rajasimha was the son and successor
of kochaidayan ranadhiran.

phones.Karbonn mobiles has reportedly tied up with the distributor of the
Rajinikanth’s upcoming flick kochaidayan to make special edition phones.Karbonn
under the deal,will launch five lakh range of kochaidayan range.The Rajinikanth
phones will come to market out by September or October.The new kochaidayan
phone will have feature phones,smartphones and karbonn smart tab.The phone have
exclusive content like pre-installed act,screensavers,dialogues,images,trivia
